Experience in metal.

For the past couple of weeks we’ve been doing/finishing up our coat hooks. This is what the finished project looks like

These are the equipment we used:

Aluminum Metal This material was used for the base of our coat hook.	Rivets
Mild steel This type of metal was bent in such a way that it had been formed into a hook shape	Welders Torch Used to heat up our metal and make it easier to bend
Normal File, Rounded File  Used for rounding the curved bit of our hook and also used to straighten up the work	*Vice Used for holding metal while cutting or file.
*Engineers blue Used to help see our lines better	*Hack saw  This is used for cutting out the aluminum metal.
*Ruler Used to make straight lines	*Hand Drill, Countersink piece Used to make the holes more accurate
Emery Cloth Used for smoothing the surface and getting it even	Drill Helps drill the holes into the base
*Scriber Used to actually draw out the lines	Center Punch Mark where you want to drill and so when you drill it goes in smoothly.
Odd leg caliper Helps us round of our metal	Engineers square To help our work get accurate lines and angles
Ball pein Hammer Is to help hit the rivets into place.	Soft Jaws0 Prevented marks from coming onto our work

Here we made a coat hook and these were all the this we used to make it. this took us 2 n half terms to fully finish it, i finished mine off with a light coated gold colour spray pained all over. my results i found was pretty good all though mine had some little dents and scratches in the metalbut besides that it was fine.

This semester in metal has been an good experience learning about all things you do with metal works even though it was the boringest project we still pulled thur and got it done. The things i found difficult and boring was filing it took ages and lost patience.

Workshop Safety Signs

Safety signs

In CMM we are learning about safety signs and what they mean.
- Hazard means the area you are in is dangerous and must be aware whats going on around you.

3 main signs that are in the workshop

- Yellow triangle sign/Cautions  - means that its a hazard and you can be hurt
- Red prohibition sign/Prohibition - means that you can NOT do whats on the sign
- Blue circular sign/Mandatory  - mean you must do it because its helping you not to cause             harm for yourself or others

3 examples

1. slipping hazard you see this in the shop where its wet on the floor or something has been split.  - Yellow triangle sign/Caution 

2. put bags under the table so others so dont trip over you see this in a classroom so students dont trip over  - Blue circular sign/Mandatory

3. no smoking in this area. if you are smoking then it could catch on fire w this petrol. - Red prohibition sign

What is PPE ? - PPE means Personal Protect Equipment, it is used to protect you when you are exposed to things that could do harm to you.

All Ways Will Be A Mystery.

2 August 2015.  
School camp, we went on a school road trip for a over night stay. The place we are going to be camping at is called Mystery lake. we are doing all fun things like fishing,camp fires and more.

 Everyone that was in our camp had put up all the tents they were staying in tonight, set everything up for the camp fires and marshmallows to burn, after we had done all of those things, everyone went to bed.

As i was going to bed something be hide the tents had court my attention as i wanted to find out more, i started walking down into the woods i got half way in and was very anxious thinking something was gonna jump out at me, i slowly carried on walking thinking should i turn around and go back but.... as i was walking it ! felt like icy fingers gripped my arm!! for a second be hide in the darkness, i turned around as fast as i could and saw there was nothing there it almost felt like something was watching me i had got the biggest fright that you could have ever gotten, it felt like a person that had been cold freezing for days and just felt like that person had just came out of a fridge? 

I was confessed on what it could have been? as i was going back to camp and i felt that someone or something had gripped onto my arm again !! i turned around saw a shadow that quickly moved then the moon light shined right onto me as soon as that shadow was gone!? i ran back to camp and as i was running back kept asking myself what could it have been? an why did it come back to me to grip onto my arm again.

 I got back to camp and everyone their was scared and wondering were i had gone, i didn't tell them what happened to me i told them i was fine.

But at the end i didn't end up finding out what it was it as a mystery to me, that replayed in my mind over and over again.  

Christchurch Moss Shootings.

The mass shootings Christchurch. has happen and has had a bad affect all over new Zealand and Christchurch city and all a parts around the world. 



The attack happen around March 2019  Riccarton at 1:40 the shootings started there first at that time 140. After that he made his way to his next location witch is Lindwood mosque.  he reached that location at 1:50. 


The shootings had killed 50 people in the Mossque community an people passing through Hagely park that day. All schools in Christchurch were put in lock down for 3 hours and a bit the prime minister of New Zealand had told all schools to b in lock down. 


This has had a huge affect on New Zealand and life changing affect on the people who lost there familys in the mossque shootings. New Zealands darkest days.

HEC1 (Home Economics)

Savoury Bread Cases 

Ingredients: 

- 2 slices of wholegrain bread 

- 1t margarine 

- 2t grated cheese

- 2t bake beans or creamed corn 

- 1t finely diced celery or onion 

- 1t slice of ham 

Method: 

1. Trim crusts off the bread 

2. Spread margarine thinly onto one side of bread 

3. Press into muffin thins margarine side down

4. Fill each case with fillings (bake beans or corn,celery,onion,ham,cheese)

5. Bake in oven until lightly brown and cheese is bubbling
